Stef and Andy - Orlock Point Elopement

I have to say that I love getting to know my clients and having that bond that comes with getting to photograph the most important events in that person's life. This could not be more true than with Stef and Andy who I truly consider to be friends.

Their wedding was such an intimate one that those in attendance (11 including bride and groom) could not help but feel touched and like they were a part of something a little magical.

It was an outdoor ceremony at Orlock Point in Donaghadee, right on the water and we could not have been luckier with the weather considering with this little island of ours you never know.

Here's Stef and Andy's wedding story and I hope it's not the last story of theirs I get to tell x

Lesley and Matthew - Tollymore Forest Engagement

Take two teachers from good aul Norn Iron who have never met, send them to live in England where they teach at the same school and let fate do the rest.

Funny how sometimes it takes leaving home only to find a slice of it somewhere else. Anyways, enough of the eughy-gooey sentiment from me.

All I can say is I had a blast scampering about the forest getting experimental with the light with Lesley and Matthew for company before heading to Newcastle Promenade in search of jellyfish and an icy feet dip.

I'd love to know what you think...

Aisling and Dave - Oxford Island Engagement

I work with a lot of couples and I have to say that not very many of them relish the thought of being in front of the camera. Aisling and Dave were no exception but I like to think of it as my mission in life to make my gorgeous clients love themselves and have a little fun along the way.

Engagement shoots are the perfect opportunity to get a bit silly, loosen up and maybe embarrass ourselves a little (trust me, I embarrass myself more than anyone). In the end all I can hope for is that we had fun and have a great portfolio to prove it.

Aisling and Dave, it was my pleasure and here's to more piggybacks on wedding day!!!

Stacey and Robert - Belfast Wedding

Stacey and Robert had bought the house, had two children (a girl and a boy) and all that was left to do for them was make it official and I was honoured to be asked to photograph their wedding day. Here's a few snippets...

For The "Unbride" Bride Part 2 - Bridal Editorial Styled Shoot

For Part 2 of this Bridal Shoot for the alternative bride, I wanted a more ethereal feel. I love and am inspired by art and this shoot was very much influenced (if I'm honest subconsciously) by one of my favourite art eras - the Pre-Raphaelites.

Again the flowers were by Memento and the dress was actually one I already owned. I just imagine how the chiffon would move and flow with the water.

Apart from a canine photo bomber, this shoot turned out exactly how I wanted. Enjoy....

For The "Unbride" Bride Part 1 - Bridal Editorial Styled Shoot

As a wedding photographer here in Northern Ireland I have been lucky enough to see all types of brides from laidback boho to full on princess. But there is one thing that always stands out, all my brides want to be different but not all my brides want to go full on white wedding.

I used that as the inspiration for this 'unbride' bridal shoot. I got to style, do the makeup and photograph (it was a busy day!).

I was very lucky to collaborate with some great businesses here in the North. The wonderful guys from Memento florists on the Ormeau Road. Honestly, if you want someone to read you mind go here!

The outfit from this part of the styled shoot was from Marmalade in Ballymena. If I wasn't already excited for the shoot, Molly, from this quirky fashion boutique, had me revved up and ready to go such is her infectious enthusiasm.

Hope you like part one and keep your eyes peeled for the next instalment...

Olivia and Preston - Destination Photography

When Olivia contacted me all the way from Canada many months ago to ask me if I could complete some engagement photos for her and her fiancé whilst they visited Ireland I was beyond flattered and answered 'hell yeah!'.

I spent an amazing day with Olivia and Preston travelling from Belfast along the North Coast and stopping wherever we fancied along the way. This pair even hopped a gate into a field with some rams because I asked them to (also because I had a chat with the head ram first and he seemed cool).

This trip was on their bucket list and I very much hope that our adventure is one they won't soon forget...I certainly won't!

Clare and Ciaran - Silent Valley Engagement

It seemed only fitting that Clare and Ciaran have their engagement photos taken at the very place Ciaran proposed. Although we're lucky it happened seeing as he bent down to tie his shoelace and Clare being about as patient as myself walked on.

This pair are unique and so fun to hang out with and I think that shows....bring on the big day!

Laura and Thomas - Titanic Couple Session

For this shoot I really wanted to do something special and different and just a bit more urban.

Laura and Thomas are two of the beautiful people that make photographing a dream. I really loved spending a Tuesday afternoon hanging with these two in Titanic Quarter.

Let me know what you think....

Chantel and David - Mahee Island Engagement

Sunny sunny days chilling with cool couples...I think that qualifies as being pretty darn lucky!

I had the pleasure of hanging out with Chantel and David and they introduced to some new locations which were pretty epic.

I might have made them do some crazy things but I think the photos turned out great!

Alex from The Full Shilling - Armagh Blogger Shoot

Here at Perfect Opening Line we're not all about weddings and engagements all of the time (much as I LOVE them), sometimes we also get to show some blogger love.

This was a shoot last year with Alex from The Full Shilling (you should totally check out her blog).  Can't believe I'm only getting round to blogging this now!

We got such an amazingly sunny day on an Apple Orchard in Loughgall and in my opinion we could be somewhere in Spain looking at some of the photos.

Hope you enjoy! And if any bloggers are looking for photography for their website I'd love to collaborate.

Natalie and William - Silent Valley Engagement

To say that Natalie and William were nervous in front of the camera is an understatement but I definitely don't think you'd know it to look at them!

We got a glorious sunny day at an unbelievably stunning setting - Silent Valley Reservoir. You would be forgiven for thinking this is stateside somewhere at times but it really is Northern Ireland.

Really looking forward to photographing their wedding in September!!

Christine and Ethan - Divis and Black Mountain Engagement

At the top of Divis and Black Mountain with these two gorgeous humans, the weather decided to have a mind of it's own. It was cold, it was windy and we had a good snow/hail storm for our efforts.

That being said I had a ball and Christine and Ethan were absolute troopers. I was so happy with how the images turned out. Hope you like them too!

Mary and Andrew - Giant's Causeway Engagement

Mary and Andrew's engagement shoot took place at Giant's Causeway on a beautiful, crisp winter's day. I lucked out in every way - the weather, the location, the sunset and the couple. All I can say is this pair were a dream to work with. Enjoy!

Jenn and Kyle - Donaghadee/AM:PM Wedding

What can I say about Jenn and Kyle's wedding? Well, firstly they are the most laid-back bride and groom to be I had ever met. I met them just a few short weeks before the wedding but as the saying goes 'it'll be alright on the night'. And sure enough it was and then some...

The pair got married in a beautiful church in Donaghadee and then we got to spend some time down near the harbour by the lighthouse (did I tell you I have a thing for lighthouses?!). Then on to AM:PM for the reception.

It was such a beautiful day for January here in Northern Ireland. Blue skies all round...I'm fairly certain that's a good omen for this gorgeous pairs marriage. Feast your eyes on their big day...

Robyn and Dean - Greyabbey Engagement

I'm the type of person that's favourite season is the one we are in but I think Autumn (or Fall for y'all stateside) holds a special place in my heart. There's something so romantic about walking in the colourful falling leaves.

So sets the scene for Robyn and Dean's engagement shoot. We met in Greyabbey and the young couple were shy at first but it's hard to stay coy when I'm throwing leaves at your head (sorry guys!).

The day was topped off by a beautiful sunset and what a great day it was *sigh*

Emma and Colin - Belfast City Centre Engagement

Did I ever mention I love my hometown? Belfast has a history for sure and not all good but it's definitely an interesting place to grow up.

When I met Emma and Colin in the city centre to complete their engagement photos I wanted to look at the city through new eyes and from a slightly different angle. Hope you like them!

Stef and Andy - Glenariff/Waterfoot Engagement

Get ready for a serious #GIRLBOSS blog post. Stef is a girl that wants to do things differently. She doesn't mind taking the road less travelled and so her engagement to Andy was no different. Stef wanted to propose to her man and I'm seriously behind this forward thinking.

I spent a lovely, albeit packed day hiking round Glenariff Forest and then ended the day on a very windy Waterfoot beach.

This pair were very fun and very much in love. I'm so excited to photograph their wedding this year.

Kera and Kieran - Belfast City Hall Wedding

I was very excited to get to do the wedding photography for a lovely couple in one of the most intimate ceremonies I've ever been a part of.

Kera and Kieran were married in Belfast City Hall with just a few of their close family to witness the event. It wasn't a big, fancy wedding but it was one that I truly felt a part of. I'll admit to shedding a tear or two.

The pair only wanted a few photos of the ceremony and of their family but I didn't need a lot of time to fall in love with them. When I met them before the big day they said they talked about getting married from their very first date - they just knew! The romantic in me is swooning!!

Angela and Robert - Whiterocks Beach Engagement

A massive perk of being a wedding photographer in Northern Ireland is getting to explore this little part of the world. I truly believe we own some of the best beaches and Whiterocks beach in Portrush is no exception.

It was a beautiful setting with a beautiful couple. Angela and Robert were a joy to work with and clearly smitten with each other.

I'll admit to being a little jealous at how easily Robert lifted Angela round like a living doll. It was one of those perfect kind of days.
